Grupo ACTO is a Real – Insurtech focused on transforming the insurance industry through their technology. They currently operate different business models focused on the massive distribution of financial insurance and assistance products through technology.
Their founding partners are Carlos R. Arroyo Maciel, Daniel Arroyo and Carlos Alberto Arroyo, who have more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and 5 years working together developing Insurtech technology. Currently, their most recent project is to be part of the founding companies that are in charge of the MIAMI INSURTECH ADVOCATES HUB together with leading insurtech ecosystem players that see Miami as the hub for insurtech business.
In that sense, the MIAMI INSURTECH ADVOCATES HUB is the first Latin American Insurtech community, open and promoted from Miami, for all those interested in doing business in the region and as a launching pad for their businesses internationally.
MIA Hub: an Open Community
The Hub is open to add value to all their participants. MIA Hub places Miami as the epicenter of collaboration and entrepreneurial excellence for the insurance industry in Latin America, connecting the Insurtech ecosystem of all countries with their international Hub.
Benefits of belonging to MIA Hub
MIA Hub has been created in Miami to be the reference place for the Insurtech community in Latin America, by providing access to intellectual capital, investors and/or business partners. Throughout the year they develop activities in order to fulfill the purpose of the hub. Hub members have access to thematic webinars every month, quarterly and on-demand pitch days and networking events, semi-annual Insurtech days, and special activities on demand and also in coordination with industry events.

Juan Mazzini (Celent): Director of Celent and responsible for the insurance practice for EMEA, APAC and LATAM. He is responsible for global research and advising C-level executives in the financial services industry on topics such as Fintech, Insurtech, innovation, emerging technologies and business transformation. Celent is a division of Oliver Wyman and part of the MMC group of companies.
Hilario Itriago (The Latam Insurtech): Experienced international insurance professional with more than 20 years in the sector, having worked in markets such as the United Kingdom, the Baltic countries and LATAM, where he spent most of his career at RSA Insurance Group. He was Regional COO and then CEO of a $1.2B insurance company with operations in 6 countries, from Mexico to Argentina.
Carlos Alberto Arroyo (Grupo ACTO): With over 15 years in the insurance industry, Carlos is a serial entrepreneur focused on catalyzing the digital transformation of financial services, InsurTech and Data Science. He has high-level negotiation experience in the financial, insurance and software industries, both in the US and Mexico. Carlos is the founder and current CVO of GRUPO ACTO, a technology holding company that seeks to change the way the world consumes financial services through their InsurTech technology.
Bruno Ferrari (123 Seguros): Bruno is the co-founder of 123 Seguros and has been involved in technology and online media for +16 years. He co-founded ASEA (Argentine Entrepreneurs Association) and the Argentine Chamber of Fintech. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration (Regent’s Business School, UK). Executive programs at Stanford and Harvard, ECLA Program (Columbia Business School). Licensed Insurance Agent (SSN). He is an Endeavor Entrepreneur.
Eduardo Iglesias (VivaWell): Eduardo is an experienced entrepreneur and executive with more than two decades as a CEO. He is one of the pioneers of Insurtech in Latin America. He is currently scaling up VivaWell, a very innovative HealthCare company in México and Argentina.He was a Co-founder and CEO of eColon one of the first 100% digital Insurance Company Latin America. In addition, he serves as Co-Chair of the Global Chapter Committee of the Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs (HAE) and Co-Chair of Buenos Aires Chapter.
Aidan Pope (BMS): Executive President of BMS in Latin America and the Caribbean. Pope is focused on growing BMS’s operations in Latin America and the Caribbean and continuing to expand their customer base and their business network in the region. He has over 38 years of insurance experience.
Luis Ramos (SURA): CIO Latin America for Suramericana. He is a technology executive with more than 17 years of experience and a strong background in all IT & Operations roles. He is also a Systems Engineer from the Santiago Mariño Polytechnic (Venezuela), with studies from SED Electronic Data Systems (United States), ITIL Foundations Certification ITERA (Colombia), Executive Education in Understanding Global Markets from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
