Friends actor Matthew Perry has said he will remove Keanu Reeves’s name and the comment about him from future copies of his book.
The actor’s book “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing”, published last year, will now have some revisions made to it.
Perry announced the changes on Saturday at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
The 53-year-old told the crowd: “I said a stupid thing. It was a mean thing to do.”
Perry questioned why other actors have died while The Matrix star is still alive.
He referenced the deaths of River Phoenix and Heath Ledger in the book, writing “Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?”
Perry said he has made the changes and “pulled his name [Reeves] because I live on the same street.”
“I’ve apologized publicly to him. Any future versions of the book will not have his name in it.
“If I run into the guy, I’ll apologize. It was just stupid.”
